Foresters often claim to be the original environmental land managers, and rightly so. However, many projects do not include a timber production component as a primary goal.

Natural Resource Planning Services, Inc. (NRPS) has broad experience in land management for non-timber resources. This experience includes management for water resources conservation, wildlife habitat improvement, ecological restoration, and environmental land management and monitoring activities.

NRPS offers a wide variety of environmental land management services to a diverse clientele including government, institutional, and private clients. Some of these services include:

• Vegetation management by prescribed burning, or mechanical and chemical treatments
• Ecosystem restoration through establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of desired species
• Vegetation mapping (FLUCCS, NAI, NWI, etc.)
• Road network and drainage pattern modification to enhance or restore site hydrology
• Monitoring vegetation changes over time to determine the efficacy of land management treatments
• Developing multiple-use inventories and management plans
• Negotiating between landowner and government agencies for conservation easements
• Evaluation of potential environmental effects of development plans on existing ecosystems
• Monitoring and reporting related to dredge and fill permitting
