Mindy was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida, Plant City campus in August 2007. While a student, Mindy was involved with multiple internships and projects involving urban forestry and water quality, including working as a research assistant at the University of Florida.

Mindy was the founding chapter chair for the Society of American Foresters student chapter at the UF Plant City campus. In addition, she received the 2007 Florida SAF Graduating Senior Award and the 2007 Southeastern SAF Outstanding Student Award for academic scholarship, leadership, and potential. She is currently working on her Geographic Information Systems Graduate Certificate at USF - Tampa Campus (approx. completion date Dec. 2010)

Mindy is the 2010 recipient of the SAF Florida Division Young Forester of the Year Award in recognition of demonstrated leadership in forestry and community and active participation and outstanding achievement in professional and civic organizations. View the article here

Mindy is involved in a wide variety of services offered by NRPS including timberland management, mapping, and urban forestry. Mindy is a Certified Arborist.
