Raised in Western New York, Eric graduated from the University of Maine in 1976 with a B.S. in Forest Management. Eric migrated to Florida in 1977 where he initially served as Lee County forester with the Florida Division of Forestry. In 1982, Eric went to work for W. Dexter Bender & Associates, Inc, an environmental consulting firm where he was involved in wetlands delineation and various permitting practices.

In 1984, Eric joined with Dexter Bender and formed Forest Resources Management (FRM), Inc. a timber management and urban forestry consulting firm in Fort Myers, Florida. In 1995, FRM was sold to and merged with NRPS and Eric became an NRPS employee, managing operations in central and south Florida.

Although Eric provides a wide variety of services (including timberland management, reforestation/restoration planting, and timberland appraisal), he prefers consulting related to urban forestry, tree appraisal, and expert wittness testimony. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and an ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist.
